Distributed Joint Source-Channel Coding for Correlated Sources Using Non-systematic Repeat-Accumulate Based Codes

چکیده
In this paper, we propose a technique for coding the data from multiple correlated binary sources, with the aim of providing an alternative solution to the correlated source compression problem. Using non-systematic repeat-accumulate based codes, it is possible to achieve compression which is close to the Slepian–Wolf bound without relying on massive puncturing. With the technique proposed in this paper, instead of puncturing, compression is achieved by increasing check node degrees. Hence, the code rate can be more flexibly adjusted with the proposed technique in comparison with the puncturing-based schemes. Furthermore, the technique is applied to distributed joint source-channel coding (DJSCC). It is shown that in many cases tested, the proposed scheme can achieve mutual information very close to one with the lower signal-to-noise power ratio than turbo and low density generator matrix based DJSCC in additive white Gaussian noise channel. The convergence property of the system is also evaluated via the extrinsic information transfer analysis.

Joint source-channel coding of binary sources with side information at the decoder using IRA codes
We use systematic irregular repeat accumulate (IRA) codes as source-channel codes for the transmission of an equiprobable memoryless binary source with side information at the decoder. A special case of this problem is joint source-channel coding for a nonequiprobable memoryless binary source. The theoretical limits of this problem are given by combining the Slepian-Wolf theorem, the source ent...
متن کاملDistributed Joint Source-Channel Coding for arbitrary memoryless correlated sources and Source coding for Markov correlated sources using LDPC codes
In this paper, we give a distributed joint source channel coding scheme for arbitrary correlated sources for arbitrary point in the Slepian-Wolf rate region, and arbitrary link capacities using LDPC codes. We consider the Slepian-Wolf setting of two sources and one destination, with one of the sources derived from the other source by some correlation model known at the decoder. Distributed enco...
متن کاملLDGM Codes for Channel Coding and Joint Source-Channel Coding of Correlated Sources
We propose a coding scheme based on the use of systematic linear codes with low-density generator matrix (LDGM codes) for channel coding and joint source-channel coding of multi-terminal correlated binary sources. In both cases, the structures of the LDGM encoder and decoder are shown, and a concatenated scheme aimed at reducing the error floor is proposed. Several decoding possibilities are in...

Group-theoretic construction and analysis of generalized coset codes for symmetric/asymmetric distributed source coding. Abstract | In this paper we consider the problem of distributed source coding with symmetric and asym-metric rates of transmission with a constructive and practical approach, referred to as DIstributed Source Coding Using Syndromes (DISCUS). We employ generalized coset codes ...
متن کاملRate-adaptive codes for distributed source coding
Source coding with correlated decoder side information is considered. We impose the practical constraint that the encoder be unaware of even the statistical dependencies between source and side information. Two classes of rate-adaptive distributed source codes, both based on Low-Density Parity-Check (LDPC) codes, are developed and their design is studied. Specific realizations are shown to be b...
